Help Treat "Jack"

My husband and I were driving to dinner Saturday night on Lancaster Blvd when a dog ran out in front of our truck. Unfortunately we were unable to stop the truck in time and he was injured. With the help of our fellow neighbor, Vikki, we got him to an emergency vet and after a few X-rays and tests we found that he had a broken hip and several deep cuts. "Jack" was wearing a collar but had no identification tags or chip. We think he is about 3 years old.

We are asking our community for help for the required surgery on his hip and the deep wounds on his legs. We are actively looking for the owners, but we cannot be sure if we will find them, and we knew that we could not let him remain in pain.

Surgery on his hip will be at least $4000, treating the cuts is estimated at $2000 and keeping him comfortable and stable until the surgery requires him to stay with the vet, which they estimate at about $1700. We know there will likely be additional costs, and we are using all of our resources to help him. So far he has been very sweet, despite the obvious pain and fear he is in right now.
