Hello, my name is Zilia, and I am Tilly’s owner. She was recently attacked by a large dog and rushed to pet emergency. During the attack, her pelvis was pulled out of place, and the ligaments and muscles around the sockets are completely torn. Tilly recently had surgery, where a metal toggle was put in her pelvis to hold her leg in place. Although the surgery was successful, she had multiple, deep puncture wounds from the dog's large teeth, all throughout her leg, which caused a serious antibiotic-resistant infection, leading to a dying hind leg.
The vet’s tried to saver her leg, however about a week after the first surgery, I got the horrific news that there was too much damage to the leg, and that it was making Tilly really sick, and putting her life at risk. The only option was an amputation to remove the infected leg. After 2 surgeries, and over 3 weeks in pet emergency, the vet bill for Tilly is over $15,500.
I am writing to the public to help me provide Tilly with the best possible chance to fully recover, and access to medical treatment. I am a university student and would really appreciate assistance with the vet bills. Tilly is only 3 years old, and she has an incredible nature. I have had her since she was only 8 weeks old, and she is very gentle and playful and it is very difficult seeing her in so much pain. She is an amazing little cat and honestly, anything will help. I have started an online fundraiser to assist with the costs. Please follow the link below. Thank you very much.
