Bill Wolfe and Family

How to begin this story? Well... it's about an amazing guy who fell in love with a spit-fire of a girl and together they made a beautiful dream into an every day reality. After twenty-two years they're the family we all look to... the ones who are getting it right. Two kind, smart, level-headed kids to keep the house busy, pets to keep the house a little crazy, a house that is a home in every sense of the word.

Bill and Sarah... two people we look to as the best examples of kind and generous humans, involved members of the community, caring neighbors, dedicated and loving friends... have been blindsided in the worst possible way imaginable. This February, Bill was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer... which, we know, can be very treatable... and, originally, his prognosis was good.

After his initial diagnosis, Bill's doctors moved as quickly as possible to schedule him for surgery to remove his thyroid and adjacent lymph nodes. It wasn't until surgery had started that the devastating diagnosis was discovered. In the most cruel twist of fate, the surgeon discovered the cancer Bill has is not the easily treatable kind.

Of all the different types of Thyroid Cancer you can have, Bill has Anaplastic thyroid cancer, one of the fastest growing and most aggressive of all cancers. The cause of Anaplastic thyroid cancer is unknown, it is extremely rare and is found in about 1% of patients with thyroid cancer. And... the prognosis is not good... probably a year. We could tell you more, but it's heart-breaking to write it out, so if you'd like to learn more you can visit these sites:

Moving forward... Bill will be working with oncologists and clinical researchers to find the right treatment path for him. As a family, Bill, Sarah, Liam and Lauren will be spending as much time together as possible... making memories, sharing precious moments, and cherishing the time they have.

So, this is where YOU come in... we would like the Wolfes to be able to go wherever and do whatever feels right to them... spending time together, making those memories... without worrying about the monetary aspect. Yes, there will be doctors to visit and decisions to make, but there will also be dinners to have together, movies to see, and trips to the beach and we don't want lack of funds to get in the way. Please consider making a donation in any amount that feels right to you and know you will be helping to shape... and ease the burden of... this important chapter in Bill and Sarah's lives.
