Help Mother of Newborn Battle Stage 4 Cancer

Hello,

My name is James McFadden. I am the proud father of a 6 week old baby girl and husband to a wife with aggressively growing stage 4 kidney cancer.

Andrea Campos McFadden is a native to New Braunfels. Born and raised here, graduated Canyon HS in 2001, and slowly built her life in this wonderful town. I joined Andrea and settled in New Braunfels with her after falling in love with her as well as the town.

No one thinks this kind of thing will happen to their family. We were married in 2018, had our baby only weeks ago, and figured that our lives were just beginning.

Blood work from the beginning and end of pregnancy never showed anything abnormal. As we reached the last weeks of pregnancy we did have some complications that caused an emergency C-Section. Perhaps this was the first warning sign. But truly, this reared it's ugly head and became more significant during recovery- when things simply weren’t healing.

Five weeks after delivery and still in a lot of pain, we took Andrea to the ER. That night, the ER doctors informed us that she appeared to have cancer. During a time when we should be bonding with our first child, excited about recovery from surgery being complete, and dreaming of future plans… we were devastated.

We are now figuring out childcare for a newborn with only one able-bodied parent… who must also be caretaker for Mom and sole income provider. We're also working on rehoming our 3 amazing dogs and getting started on all the many lifestyle changes we have to make to live healthier lives and sustain a fight with cancer.

This all means Andrea will have to quit work and I will have to spend a lot of time away from the office. We're going to have to shrink to a single income while funding medical bills, travel to hospitals, and everyday life.

Please help us make ends meet while we spend a lot of time in doctor’s offices, treatment centers, consolidate finances, learn about newborn expenses that first time parents aren’t aware of, and make many other substantial changes in lifestyle.
