Help for the Flower Lady

Donation protected
Most of you may know her as the flower lady, some of you know her as "Mummy" as she was the second mom to many kids that were not her own, and some of you may simply know her as Connie or even Cotton Candy clown.

A native of Maine, but a member of the Prince George community for more than 20 years where she raised her 3 kids on her own playing mom and dad. She has always had a passion for flowers and opened her 2 local shops to support her family. She has brought joy in the form of flowers, and smiles for all of her communities events, weddings, birthdays, holidays and more. She has always enjoyed making others happy and would go out of her way to make your special moments perfect.

She remarried to the love of her life once her kids were adults and on their own. And just a few short years later, her new husbndPete, suffered a tragic motorcycle accident that resulted in a tramatic brain injury. She stuck by his side through a rough patch of treatments, physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy as he learned to walk and talk all over again. She then became a caretaker and guardian angel once again and has played that role for the past 7 years for which Pete and the whole family love and are very grateful for.

Connie is a mother of 3, grandmother of 12 and great-grandmother to 1. She has been an active member of her church, the VFW, and the community for many years.

This brings us to the reason for our request for help. A couple of months ago, Connie was vwry unexpectedly diagnosed with stage III cancer and will be undergoing 6 months of treatment including chemo, radiation, and surgery to remove a mass the size of baseball.

As most of you know, Connie has always been a go getter and hardworking individual who rarely asks for assistance doing anything,
even when she should. (Love you mom.)
Due to the nature of her cancer, she is unable to work, and will continue to be unable to return to work until after her 6 months of treatment. This will put financial strain on her family, especially as her husband is also on long term dissability due to his TBI. Even with insurance, they expect a lot of medical bills as she has 5 specialists working on her case.

We consider a lot of you our our extended family, and we are asking for your help. We intend to use funds for medical bills, but also the possible assitance in paying normal bills, upkeep of the house, home care, and food services if they become necessary in the later phases of her treatment. Any little bit helps, even if you can just share the story. And help us help "The flower lady".
