An Afghan Refugee Family Needs Help

Donation protected
Hussain Bibi (mother, 57), Kaienaat (daughter, 19), Shehzad (son 17), Muskaan (daughter 12), Ubaid (son, 9) are an Afghan family who were recently resettled in San Diego County and are in need of our generosity.

Nadir Khan, the father, husband and the main breadwinner of the family was a victim of a suicide bomb attack while working as a security guard at the US Embassy in Kabul.

The family has left behind everything that they have ever known including family, friends, profession, school, community, language and culture for this new opportunity in the United States.

They reside in a small apartment and depend on meager public and private non-profit resources to help set up their life here in the U.S. Currently, they do not have enough money to pay for their rent, medical and other financial needs, and are dependent on the donations and generosity of the local community and concerned humanitarians all over to help make ends meet.

The entire family is trying to learn English as quickly as possible. All of Hussain Bibi’s children are attending school and are acclimatizing to life in the United States. It is our aim to allow the children to continue going to school and avoid having to leave school to financially support their family. That being said, Kaienaat and Shehzad are looking to find part-time jobs to supplement their existing public and private assistance.

While we follow many tragedies across the world during these unsettling times, let this be the one thing we can do right now to have a direct impact on the lives of people who are new to the community.

The family is eager to be successful in this second opportunity at life, and your support will help make that possible. Please give today. Any amount makes a difference.

Here are some of the pressing needs the Khan family have that your donation can make a direct impact on:

Expense                                  Per Person            Total for Family

Rent Shortage & Utilities     -                        $600/mo
