Eli Johnson's Road to Recovery

Donation protected
Eli Johnson is my nephew and a true superhero! He is one of the toughest little guys we've ever known, and I and his family want to help ease the financial burden his family is experiencing during his healing process.

Back in early May Eli fell off a swingset while playing at a neighbor's house and fractured his humerus just above his elbow and dislocated his elbow, as well.

Eli was taken to Piedmont Newnan Hospital ER where they X-Rayed his arm to confirm and diagnose the extent of his injury. It was then determined that he would need to be transferred to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta-Scottish Rite immediately to have his bones and elbow joint manually "set" back in place and to undergo surgery the next morning to realign the bones then have a metal fixation device placed (pins).

Eli experienced excruciating pain but remained strong and brave through the whole process. This little guy is TOUGH!

Fast foward to today, 3 months later....Eli experienced significant nerve damage to his arm during the fall and is still experiencing loss of sensation/numbness and is unable to effectively move and use his arm and hand. For this he is still being followed by the orthopedic specialists and participating in an occupational therapy program once a week. We all hope he will make a FULL recovery, but I think he still has a very LONG road ahead of him and A LOT of therapy.

These past 3 months have been physically, emotionally, and financially difficult for Eli and the Johnson family. Eli LOVES playing baseball and guitar and hasn't been able to do either of these things since his injury.

Many of you who know Eli also know that he has had several medical issues over the years including being born with a solitary kidney and problems regulating his blood sugars. He has visited many hospitals, doctors' offices, specialists, and therapists over the years, and as we all know, the medical bills rack up quickly!

We are asking for donations to help offset some of his medical and therapy expenses. We hope you can find it in your heart to help our tough guy and his sweet family out, so he can continue to receive the BEST care possible. Eli REALLY wants to get back to doing the things he loves like playing guitar and baseball.

Every little bit helps, and if you are unable to give at this time please take a moment to share Eli's story with your friends and family.

Thank you so much!
