I’ve started a second campaign to help Silas to maintain his level of medical care that he needs. His original campaign, which you can see here; www.gofundme.com/supersilas , was created to help our family save the 400,000$ needed for his stem cell therapy treatment. We do not touch the money donated there for its being saved for his overseas treatments. You can see his full updated medical and life story over there, with photos of the little man as well!
I created this campaign to help Silas to continue to receive the excellent care he’s been receiving in the last few months. I was laid off right before the holidays and have been struggling with his insurance company to receive the coverage needed to help him keep his physical and respiratory therapists. The tight financial situation has also made it hard to keep up with his 17 prescriptions that need to be filled every month as well as replacing his CPAP masks, GJ mic-keys and feeding tubes, feeding bags and lines, special pediatric feeding formula, replacement parts for his suctioning machine and the little things such as the gauze we put between his mic-key button and skin or his ointment for his lips, etc. The goal posted is about how much it cost per year for Silas’ medical expenses after insurance. After insurance, it costs about $2500 a month for his medical equipment, medicine and copays for therapy visits and specialists, etc.
