Renovating primary school in Sudan

Hey everyone,

My name is Summer Abdelkareem. While in North Sudan (Khartoum) last month, I was touched by my visit to a girls primary school. I spent a few days with the schoolgirls and was moved by how hard working and ambitious they were. However, the reality that the girls face is crumbling walls and ceilings, restrictions to clean water and cramped classrooms. To the extent that some lessons are conducted outside and girls are forced to sit on the ground due to the insufficient space in classrooms 

Educating young women in developing countries such as Sudan is core to breaking the vicious cycle caused by poverty. The goal is to create a safer and more stimulating environment to facilitate learning for the next generation of Sudanese women. 

More specifically, the money raised will be used to fully renovate the school using local engineers (headed by Awatif Hamad - do contact me if you would like to contact her). This includes fixing the foundations as well as providing necessary school materials for the teachers and students alike. The money will be sent on a online banking system.

Focus areas:
- Renovating ceilings 
-Renovating walls 
- Providng a ceiling for the theatre area 
- Providing tables and chairs 
- Provide a printer/photocopier
