Soccer has been my one and only sport all my life. I began playing club soccer when I was just 5 years old. I played in high school for Foothill High, then at Mt. San Antonio College, then ended my collegiate soccer career at Hope International University. I just finished my last season playing at HIU. I ended my career on a great high-- I received “All GSAC,” “Defensive MVP,” and started and played in every game this season and racked up over 1700 minutes on the field.
I’ve given so much to this game: early mornings, lack of sleep, blood, sweat, and tears. I sacrificed by making soccer my number one priority and that often meant missing out on a lot of what this life has to offer.
Yet, as much as I’ve given to this game, it’s given me so much more in return. My coaches became my mentors. My teammates became my family. The game shaped me into the person I am today. And now, yet again, this beautiful game keeps giving. I have the opportunity to meet new people, experience a new culture, and see the world (well just south america-for now!) Not to mention, I will be facing a higher level of competition.
I’m taking a gamble and investing in myself! This week long try out will be fully self-funded! That includes flight, hotel fare, etc. Also, if I make the squad I will immediately remain in Uruguay and begin this new chapter in my life! I will be heading to Uruguay February 28, 2018.
Thank you in advance for being a part of my journey and helping me live the dream!! It is truly appreciated!!
