Help Save Molly's Legs

Donation protected

Hello everyone! This is my baby and her name is Molly. She is the happiest, friendliest, and sweetest Lab/Pitbull mix with an incredibly loving personality that is guaranteed to melt your heart, lift your spirits, and make you feel more loved than anyone else on the planet. Anyone who knows me personally, knows that I love and adore Molly more than anything in the world! She has been a loving companion, my most loyal friend and her existance alone is the greatest source of my happiness!

In January of last year, one of my roommates brought his girlfriends dog into our house while I was out running errands. The large dog was very territorial and had a history of agressive behavior. My roommate stupidly attempted to introduce his dog to Molly, the dog charged at her and savagely attacked her. The dog bit into her legs and the shearing action from the attack left deep gashes on her legs and on her ear. As soon as I got home, I rushed her to the nearest animal hospital and she was immediately taken into surgery to treat her wounds for severe pocketing. Several stitches and $1,500 later, Molly recovered from the attack, but she was left with a ruptured Cranial Cruciate Ligament (CCL) in one of her hind legs that would eventually develop into a more serious condition.

One year later:

Molly's degenerative condition has worsened significantly. After injuring the CCL in one leg, the constant weight shifting and other factors led to a tear in her miniscus along with an additional CCL tear in her opposite leg.  Arthritis has already set in and Molly is in ALOT of pain that I can no longer manage with medications alone. The painful inflammation in her joints causes lameness in both of her hind legs and she can hardly even bear to carry her own weight. She is now overweight because the pain from her condition is preventing her from running, swimming, playing and enjoying all of the other physical activities that she loves. I desperately want to help Molly, but she needs a $5,000 knee reconstruction surgery that I cannot afford. She needs this operation on both legs, but fixing at least one leg might give Molly her life back. I am in desperate need of as much help as I can get to raise the money to get Molly this surgery as soon as possible!

Surgery and Postoperative Care Estimate:
This surgery is critical to stabalize at least one of Molly's legs, slow the spread of the arthritis and significantly ease the inflammation and pain in her joints. For transparency purposes I am sharing a a copy of the estimate I recieved for the cost of the surgery and postoperative care.

WHY DO WE LOVE MOLLY?

Molly is actively defying the negative myths and stereotypes of PitBulls. She stole the hearts of millions and became an internet sensation when a video of Molly meeting a kitten went viral!

Molly has been featured in several blogs, websites and news articles and social networking websites . It's so hard to NOT fall in love with Molly!

Pitbull Meets Abandoned Kitten for the First Time

I adopted Molly  four years ago when she was just a baby, but I did not raise her alone. Molly was raised by me and all of my amazing friends who have all been very important in Molly's life. Molly has spent her entire life surrounded by friends who love and adore her just as much as I do. She makes every roadtrip, every party and everyday life more exciting and we include her in nearly EVERYTHING.
