Help Save Maureen Weaver
It was the Friday before Super Bowl in 2013, when we received a call from Maureen’s doctor, after 7 months of failed attempted diagnosis, that she had ovarian cancer. Shocked and disbelief. Maureen, a picture of health all her life. We couldn’t believe it. That year involved 9 weeks of chemo, a hysterectomy and 9 more weeks of preventative chemo.
We forged into January 2014, with a full head of hair, no wigs and a positive attitude. All went well until October 2016, when her CA125 (the female marker for ovarian cancer, which is normally around 35) went from her usual 9-12 to 75!
Three CT scans showed she had a tumor on the left lobe of her liver. In November, she had surgery to remove 1/3 of her left lobe of the liver. She went back home to recuperate, but in February her CA125 blood test showed 90, which meant that the cancer was once again on the move. This time it attacked her spleen, which meant another CT scan and surgery to remove it.
She then began another round of chemotherapy. Once a month for 5 months. Maureen’s CA125 settled around 22 till the first of September. We now have the latest results of the CA125 blood test which is 36. This means that cancer has raised its ugly head again. Maureen is now facing more CT scans, more radiation and toxins in her body, and possibly more surgery, which is something that hasn’t been working to ward off this cancer!
Maureen has always been a healthy person and o To look at her one wouldn’t know she had cancer. She is still working selling travel, which she loves and plans to continue. We are asking for your help to keep her alive!
We’ve done a lot of research and we have found very positive alternatives to fighting cancer, but they are costly.
Our goal is to secure funds to further our endeavors to rid Maureen of this horrible immune disorder. So, we are asking you, will you please help us raise this money as soon as possible so Maureen can begin living the rest of her life? We ask for your prayers and to please dig deep in your pockets so we can HELP SAVE MAUREEN!!
