Help Sara Support Her Family

As many of you know, my husband Kenan Feitler suffered a terrible accident on July 18 while working in another region of France.  He fell 40 feet from a wind tower that was under construction because a subcontractor had not properly secured the base. He incurred multiple injuries, including fractures to his leg, hip, arm and jaw.  Most importantly and seriously, he suffered a traumatic brain injury.  He has been in intensive care for the past 8 weeks, in Amiens, France, 8 hours away from our home in  Brittany.

His progress to date will allow his transfer to a rehabilitation facility in Roscoff, only an hour away from where we live.  With Kenan in Roscoff, I will be able to prepare the nutrient rich food he needs to enhance his recovery and be fully involved in his daily therapies.

The rehabilitation timeline is unknown, but noting the severity of his injuries, rehabilitation will take many months, perhaps years.  The doctors have stated a prognosis for his permanent condition is not possible for at least another 18 months.  Therefore, the extent of recovery is currently unknown, although I remain optimistic.

In conjunction with our farm operations and my catering, I recently started a soap making business, BE Cosmetics, with the idea that it would be developed over a period of time.  I have already purchased equipment and have established numerous retail outlets where sales are growing.  Now with Kenan unavailable for the farm operation, BE Cosmetics has become our sole source of income for the foreseeable future.

This fall, Kenan and I had planned to build a soap studio in full conformance with all sanitary organic regulations.  The fact that Kenan will not be able to participate in the construction means that it will cost more than anticipated as all the work will need to be hired out.

Some of you have asked if there is some way you can help.  Those who know me know how hard it is for me to ask, but this accident has changed my world.  In an instant, I became a single Mom and my kids lost their best ever Dad, at least for now.  I have been so grateful for the love, prayers and emotional support throughout this ordeal, and I hope it continues.

Now, though, I really need help to finance the soap studio.  The studio will be built in a stone building on property which we were already in the process of buying.  The space will include an area for receiving and storing raw materials, making the soap, an environmentally controlled drying area, as well as space to package and store the finished product.  Without this it will be extremely difficult for me to produce enough soap to support my family.

The kids, Ila (5) and Kylie(6 months) and I appreciate any contributions through the GoFundMe site to assist in building the soap studio.  This will enable BE Cosmetics to move on to the next step.  For  more information on BE Cosmetics see www.becosmetics.fr
