Help Sarah Sobaski Fight Cancer!

In May of 2017 Sarah noticed that her left breast was not looking normal. She soon discovered a small lump that was pretty painful to the touch. Even the softest pressure caused pretty severe pain along with some nausea.

After calling and scheduling an initial exam, the doctors advised her to get an ultrasound. The scan came back with the findings of an 18mm mass. She was told it was not serious and to schedule a follow up in 6 months.

Over the next month the lump grew and became more painful. Sarah knew something was not right and proceeded to contact the doctors a half dozen times to express her concern. They kept advising to wait 6 months and that there were no signs of cancer because cancer typically "doesn't hurt."

Not sure what to do, during a routine visit with her primary care doctor, she brought up the lump and how she was feeling. He joked and said, "it doesn't seem serious, but with your medical luck we should probably have you seen by a specialist." And a few weeks later she was in to see the speicalist. In between that time, Sarah had taken a round of antibiodics prescribed to her by an OBGYN in efforts to get rid of the lump that was diagnosed as an "infection."

The OBGYN ordered another ultrasound since it was obvious the lump had grown. And boy did it. In a month and a half the lump had grown from 18mm to over 5cm. Dr. Terhar(breast specialist) saw the results and felt that it could be an autoimmune disorder or possibly even cancer. She performed a biopsy and had Sarah come back in a week later.

Sarah came to the office that day and received the news...it was a strand of HER-2 positive breast cancer. Terhar was teary eyed along with Sarah when she broke the news that this cancer is known for being the most aggressive and quick spreading form of breast cancer. She recommended Sarah to her oncologist, Dr. Braiteh.

Fast forward to Friday, August 4th. The cancer had grown to 11cms in that time. Dr. Braiteh waked in and informed Sarah she has Stage 3C Inflammatory Breast Cancer(an extremely rare and fast moving form. Only 1-5% of all breast cancers are inflammatory) . Not only that, but if she had waited 2 more weeks...it could have been in terminal Stage 4 due to the extremely aggressive nature of this type of cancer.

Chemotherapy and double mastectomy are what's down the pipeline for Sarah over next few months. She is scared, as well as everyone around her. Dr. Braiteh though, is confident that Sarah will beat this and live a cancer free and long life.

Sarah has received so much support and love from friends and family. She is truly touched by everyone who has prayed, reached out, or has shared their stories with her.

We are raising this money to help make life a little easier on Sarah with this huge battle she's about to embark on. All donations will go to her medicial bills and potential lost work wages.

Sarah will be making a full recovery, I can guarantee you that.  She still plans on living life the same as she was before this. She is excited and proud to start her 4th year of teaching at Liberty High School here in Las Vegas. Her passion for teaching, her students, and her fellow faculty will serve as her motivation to keep fighting, even through the hard times.

If there is a remaining balance from all the donations, we plan on donating them to help others and their fight against cancer. Also, Sarah wants everyone to know that if you know something is wrong...keep pushing. It may just save your life!

We truly appreciate all donations. Please donate if you are in a good place financially, we don't want anyone to stress or struggle while trying to help. Just send us some love on Facebook, text, or call us :)
