Help Sarah w/ Liver Transplant expenses

On June 17th 2013 my wife Sarah (33) was hospitalized for an enlarged spleen and cirrhosis of the liver. On June 27th, 2013 she saw a Liver Specialist and was diagnosed with Non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) which progressed to End Stage Liver Disease. This diagnoses entails a complete liver transplant as hers is completely damaged. Sarah was then referred to Mass General Hospital which is 196 miles one way. We have already made several trips to speak with specialists there and to be evaluated. Mass General Hospital Transplant committee has determined that Sarah's current liver condition is significant enough to be added to the United Network for Organ Sharing (UNOS) transplant list and she can be called at any time. Sarah will need to take anti-rejection medication for the rest of her life once the transplant is complete.

We are looking to raise money to help offset the cost of medical expenses including medicines, treatments, co-pays, travel expenses, lost time at work and accommodations for her immediate family during and after her transplant surgery as she will be hospitalized for a couple weeks in Boston. We will also need to travel the 392 mile round trip twice per week for a few months for evaluations and other Dr. visits.

During the last few months, Sarah has been through a lot while learning the ups and downs of this disease. She is a strong and determined woman and has a completely new outlook on life. We have been married for more then 8 years and have two beautiful sons. We as a family have been drawn closer together then we have ever been. It feels wonderful that I get to wake up everyday and fall deeper in love with such a loving and caring mother to our children.

We appreciate each and every one of you for keeping Sarah in your thoughts and prayers, as we do the same for so many. God has helped us tremendously already by giving us each and every day.
