Please help our brother.
Our brother, Russell Buchter, is 58 years old and lives in Lathrop, CA. He was diagnosed in February with Merkel Cell Carcinoma, a rare form of skin cancer. He is putting every bit of his energy into fighting this relentless disease.
He was born and raised in San Lorenzo. He proudly served in the United States Air Force.
Last year he was reunited with his adult daughter, Amy after more than 25 years. They have just started on building their father/daughter relationship.
Russell is one of the nicest guy you’ll ever meet. Even as sick as he is all he wants is to go back to work, hang out with his family and spend more time with his daughter.
He gives his own time unselfishly at a moment’s notice. When his father was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s, Russell would give up his weekends so his sister could get a break. He would get calls at all hours of the day and night from his sister and never complained.
He has been a dedicated employee at Simpson Strong Tie in Lathrop for the past 14 years. His co-workers have shown their support for Russell by shaving their heads as he has gone thru chemotherapy. Until recently he has been able to work only taking time off for his treatments. Two weeks ago he had a serious reaction to his chemotherapy and has been hospitalized at the VA Hospital in Palo Alto since. Not being able to work, he is in danger of falling behind on his bills. Please consider helping Russell out so that he can return home without worrying about bills.
