Help Rose Beat Cancer!

In November of 2016 my mom, Rose Stinson, was diagnosed with Invasive Lobular Carcinoma (ILC).  This diagnosis came right as she was beginning a new chapter in her life as a newlywed and full-time nursing student (while continuing to work and care for her other 3 children still living at home).


The initial doctor's appointments were full of recommendations to proceed with the standard you expect to hear for cancer - surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy.  If you know my mama you know she's going to find out all of her options before deciding on anything, especially given her history of watching her own mother suffer through similar aggressive cancer treatments.  My mom chose to proceed with some more natural-minded options as she continues seeking alternatives. 


So here's where we are now...
She recently discovered the Indianapolis Holistic Alternative Cancer Treatment Clinic at Health and Wellness of Carmel. While we're excited and hopeful for some better suited treatment plans, this brings new financial hardships. She has to pay upfront for the visits and she even has to put half down in order to schedule her first consultation. At this point we aren't sure what will be covered by her insurance but the initial visit is $1000 out-of-pocket. They told her she can expect to come in for weekly visits in the beginning @ $220/visit (not including currently unknown testing/labs/etc) and we don't know yet how long she will have to visit that frequently but we expect at least a few months.  Obviously this will also incur travel expenses and she will probably need to take medical leave from work during this time.


This "goal" will likely change as we find out more about her treatment plan and the financial obilgations she can expect. Again, we don't know much right now but I  wanted to get this fundraiser started so we can get her first consult scheduled and keep her moving forward. As things come together I will post updates so everyone can keep up with Rose's journey to "winning" as she says.
