On November 18, 2020 I received a right above knee amputation which finally has helped take away so much of the pain and misery I have been living with for the last 10 years as I have received surgery after surgery (11 to be exact), and battled infection after infection causing me to not be able to walk and to me in tremendous amounts of pain. Alongside this fight I also battle a severe case of lupus that has attacked almost every organ in my body the most recent and scary, my central nervous system. This leaves me to forget where I am, who I am with, gives me seizure like activities and other serious nuerological problems. The amputation has been the best decision me and my doctors have made and on my good days I am learning to rock it on my prosthetic leg! This takes a tremendous amount of energy and strength. I have had to make the hard relization that 75% of my days just won't be like this due to my other illness's. I have spent almost a year fighting with insurance and have FINALLY recived a new custom power wheelchair that gives me tremendous freedom even on the days I don't feel well. I cried happy tears when it arrived. I am so humbled by everyones support throughout the years as we have navigated everything that has happened to my body. I am ready to get out there. To go to the beach. To go to church, the mall, out to eat. To go on a walk with my family. I am ready.  I am again asking for donations for helping to make my home accessible and help with my daytime care. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
