Nicole VS. Cancer

Hi, my name is Nicole Dearman. I recently found out that I have "Dermatofibrosarcoma Protubcrans" which is a cancerous tumor, unfortunately located on m
y scalp.



I have had it for about 3-4 years. I have gotten it excised before, when we were told it was a "Sebaceous Cyst". The doctor unfortunately, did not send get it biopsied. (The picture below is a picture of it before I got surgery done on it the first time. This is the original size of it.)

Since I was told it was cyst, they said "If we do not remove all of it, there is a chance of it growing back". Unfortunately, I was not out to sleep, they just topical numbing medicine. & the only way to describe what was happening is, the "cyst" was fighting the medicine off. So I could feel EVERYTHING. I could hear them scraping my skull. I could hear & feel the popping when they were scrapping it out. (The picture below is after my first surgery)

Two to three months later, it grew back twice as big & we thought it was infected because of how red & irritated it seemed. A few months later, smaller four smaller ones appeared around it.
I am uninsured, therefore I didn't have the money to keep getting it checked out. Just last week, I went back to a different doctor to get it checked out. He also said it looked like a infected cyst from the outside. He was going to go ahead & drain the infection, & after that healed he was going to excise the whole cyst. As soon as he opened it, he said "That's not a cyst, it looks like a fatty tumor". He got some samples out & sewed it back up. He told me he was going to send it to the lab. (This picture is directly after he cut it open to get it tested.)

I just received my results back yesterday, & unfortunately, all five of them are malignant tumors. Which is called Dermatofibrosarcoma.


 I am trying to raise money for hospital bills, surgery, medication, transportation, & any other medical attention I will need in the next few months. Dr. Lambert of Talladega, Alabama has referred me to UAB. One of the best hospitals in Alabama. My family & I have made phone call after phone call, trying to set an appointment for me to be seen. I have had no luck. I am uninsured. & I need all the help I can get. Any donation will be deeply appreciated. Thank you for you're time & God bless you. So many people have asked me to put a picture of my wound on here. I didn't want to do it because I know some people have weak stomachs. But I do know that this will put it more into perspective. So please, I hope this doesn't offend anyone.



This is what my head looks like right now. Right this second. It's been almost 2 weeks since my surgery. I know we will have to do a skin graph to cover this wound.  The first time it was measured it was 11x12 & now it's 9.5x10.5. I am so thankful & grateful to have such a great support system.
