This is Nathan. He celebrated his first birthday on April 18th, 2015. He is a happy, lovable little guy who enjoys his three big sisters and mom and dad.
This past week Nathan was running a fever and was taken to their family physician. The doctor ran a series of different tests and ultimately referred Paul and Esther to Blank Children's Hospital in Des Moines. Following a bone marrow biopsy, Nathan was diagnosed with ALL (acute lymphoblastic leukemia).
In the days following Nathan has had several blood transfusions, received platelets, lumbar poke (spinal tap), MRI and began chemotherapy treatments.
He is currently at the beginning of an intense chemotherapy path which will include two additional lumbar pokes as well as another bone marrow biopsy within the next month. He faces the probability of more blood transfusions, the need of additional platelets and additional hospitalizations over the next several years.
His family would appreciate your prayers for him and for safety as they will be travelling frequently to Des Moines for treatment.
There are alot of expenses involved in the many facets of his treatment.
Any and all assistance would be greatly appreciated as we seek to help Nathan fight Leukemia.
