Security deposit for local family

I saw a mother of a student today who is having to move out of our district because their house burned down last week. They were barely hanging by a thread as it was in their rental house, and now they have to move (with no belongings...everything was burned to the ground.

I saw her in the parking lot and she told me that she has a new job and could pay the rent for a decent place in the next town over but not the security deposits. If they can't move to the next town, they would have to move to a more dangerous city farther away. This family has worked so hard to get here, and she didn't ask me for anything at all.

I asked her if she could swing it if someone helped with the security deposit of $1400. She said yes. I asked her to give me til tonight to see what I could do.

So, if you are able to pledge a few dollars to help them out, I'd be incredibly grateful. I figured that if a lot of people gave a little, we might be able to come up with $ 1400.

Go Fund Me wants me to explain that I am  Nancy Cersonsky, and  I was one of the teachers for a child in this family.  The plan is for all of this money to be released to them to help them to  pay  their security deposit and get them headed in the right direction. The mom has my private number, and I have asked her to call me so that we can get the funds to  her. When I told her on Friday that I would try to get some help for her, I don't think she really  believed that would happen!
