<div><strong>El 12 de mayo</strong>, mientras mi mamá trabajaba en su turno como conserje en Katy ISD, se desplomó de repente. <strong>Había sufrido la ruptura de un aneurisma cerebral</strong> — algo que jamás imaginamos.

<div>La llevaron de emergencia al hospital, la indujeron a coma y <strong>fue trasladada en helicóptero al ICU de Neurociencia en Memorial Hermann</strong>. Allí nos dijeron que tenía <strong>dos aneurismas, y uno de ellos había roto dos veces</strong>. Los doctores tuvieron que actuar rápido para salvarle la vida.

<div>Esa primera semana fue muy difícil. <strong>Pero poco a poco, empezó a regresar — abrió los ojos, sonrió, intentó hablar e incluso empezó sus terapias.</strong> Por fin sentíamos esperanza. Le quitaron el drenaje cerebral y, después de casi tres semanas en cuidados intensivos, la pasaron a cuarto regular.

<div>Pero justo cuando pensábamos que lo peor había pasado, todo cambió otra vez.

<div><strong>El 29 de mayo, sufrió un derrame cerebral causado por espasmos cerebrales severos.</strong> La regresaron de inmediato al ICU y le colocaron otro drenaje. Pasamos dos semanas más luchando otra vez.

<div><strong>Si conoces a mi mamá, sabes que es una fuerza de la naturaleza</strong> — amable, fuerte y llena de luz. Los doctores la llaman su paciente favorita porque siempre está sonriendo y regalando chocolatitos, incluso en medio de todo esto.

<div>Ahora sigue recuperándose con mucha valentía, pero no podrá volver al trabajo por un buen tiempo. <strong>Estamos recaudando fondos para ayudar a cubrir:</strong>

<div><strong>On May 12th</strong>, while working her shift as a custodian at Katy ISD, my mom suddenly collapsed. <strong>She had suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm</strong> — something none of us ever saw coming.

<div>She was rushed to the ER, put into a medically induced coma, <strong>and flown by Life Flight to the Neuroscience ICU at Memorial Hermann</strong>. There, we found out <strong>she had two aneurysms, and one had ruptured twice. </strong>The doctors had to act fast to save her.

<div>That first week was terrifying. <strong>But little by little, she started coming back to us — opening her eyes, smiling, trying to speak, and even starting therapy.</strong> We finally felt some hope again. Her brain drain was removed, and after almost three weeks in ICU, she was moved to a regular room.

<div>But just as we were catching our breath, things took another turn.
</div>

</div>
<div><strong>On May 29, she had a stroke caused by severe brain spasms. </strong>She was rushed back to the ICU, and another brain drain had to be placed. We spent two more weeks fighting again.

</div>
<div><strong>If you know my mom, you know she’s a force of nature</strong> — kind, strong, and full of light. The doctors call her their favorite patient because she’s always smiling and handing out chocolate, even in the middle of all this.

<div>Right now, she’s still recovering and making amazing progress, but she won’t be able to return to work anytime soon. <strong>We’re raising funds to help cover:</strong>
