Please help Mr. Kirk Get Well

Donation protected
My name is Jason Barber and I am 11 years old.  Mr. Kirk has been my guitar teacher since I was in Kindergarten.  Each week he comes to my house and fills my life with  music.  He is a fantastic musician.  I mean he is a ridiculously awesome guitar player. He is also the fearless leader of The Finz, which is the rock band I am in.  In fact, he is the leader of 3 kids rock bands and a band of his own.  His whole life is about music.

He was installing flooring as a favor to his landlord at his house.  One day, he showed up at band practice at our  school and he couldn't walk.  I helped him carry his instruments to his car, which never happens.  Two days later, my Mom told me he was in the hospital with a really bad infection in his knee.  My Dad is a doctor.  He told me Mr. Kirk's knee is septic and  that means he probably got a small cut on his knee while he was installing the flooring and it got into his kneecap.  He had to be in the hospital for 10 days on IV medication.  The nurses drew a line on his leg with marker to see how much the infection was spreading.  It was very serious.  So serious that he has not been able to teach his students.  Not just me, all his students.  I asked my Mom if Mr. Kirk has insurance.  She said she doesn't know.  What I know is that when Mr. Kirk can't work, he probably doesn't get paid either.   He is working on walking.  It will be a while before he is back to his old self.  We have been practicing without him for a holiday concert we are doing on Sunday.  Mr. Kirk is going to try to come and says he is looking forward to it.  When he comes, I want him to know how much he has been missed and how much he means to us.

When I am asked each year at school to identify what I am thankful for, Mr. Kirk and the music he makes and brings to all of us is always on the list.  I want him to have peace this holiday season and not worry about having to pay bills.  Please help my friend Mr. Kirk.  He is shy and would never do this himself.

Please help him.   He is a good person and a great role model for all of us.  He is patient, he is kind, he is amazing and he needs our help.

Thank You,
