Help Me Stay at Westminster

Donation protected
Hello everyone!

My name is Gabriel Harley and I am a junior music education major at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, New Jersey! Since I was a child, I have wanted to pursue a degree and career in music, and have wanted to be able to inspire young people to follow their musical dreams, as I was inspired to do.

In the two years that I have been a student at Westminster, I have been granted many opportunities that have tremendously enhanced my education. I have had the honor of being an orientation leader for the past two years, and have been able to welcome and assist new students with their transition into college. I have been blessed to be a member of two of the most prestigious collegiate choral ensembles in the country: Westminster Choir and Kantorei, the early music ensemble. This year, I have been given the opportunity to fulfill a leadership position in my Music Education Lab, in which I was chosen to conduct Serenade to Music by Ralph Vaughn Williams. This responsibility entails weekly rehearsals and a performance at the end of the school year to raise money for a new scholarship that will be made available in the near future for an incoming music education major. Last semester, I was granted the opportunity to complete the "Five year BM/MAT" program, in which I would be able to complete my Bachelor's in Music as well as my Master's of Arts in Teaching in a five year timeframe.

Until this year, with the help of my grandmother, who has raised me since birth, I have been able to successfully pay my tuition and complete two years of my education.

Due to my academic performance and heavy involvement, I have been given a scholarship by the school that has made a significant impact on my university bill, however it is not enough to completely satisfy it.

Unfortunately, my grandmother and I are unable to secure a loan and are unable to pay what is required to maintain my enrollment at Westminster, and I fear that I will not be able to continue my education as planned.

I have reached out to family to assist me in securing a loan and also to Financial Aid for further assistance, but all efforts have failed.

Right now, I owe $6,000 that is due on October 16, 2016 and $7,000 that will be due for next semester.

All money raised will go directly to my university bill to cover tuition for the remainder of this year.

Thank you and God bless you all!
