Learning and Giving Who I Am in TZ

Hello Everyone!
I am so excited to announce and welcome you to be a part of a new and meaningful journey of mine. I have been accepted into the ASU in Tanzania: HIV/AIDS and Public Health Education Service-Learning Internship! While I have been able to save and raise funds on my own, I am still in need of help. This is a study abroad program at Arizona State University run by HEAL International which is an all-volunteer non-profit organization. As stated on their homepage “HEAL International is a small organization with a big dream -- that every person has access to the healing that they need. That sex-trafficking is no more. That every child has access to healthcare and love.” Please visit and take a look around at what HEAL International is doing in this very state of Arizona and across the seas on their website here .
I am more than thrilled to be a part of this year’s volunteer team to Tanzania. This opportunity opens the door for me to embark on a lifelong goal of mine. While this is a chance for me to be of service, I truly feel that I will be learning what it means and takes to be of service in a community in need, and what better place to start than in my own country.
The overall cost for this service-learning trip is estimated to be about $8,000 (this includes, the program fee, ASU’s summer tuition fees, health/travel costs along with insurances, immunizations, visas, and all other various items needed for this service learning opportunity). This will be a 6-week program beginning on June 27th, taking place in the rural town of Tengeru. There I will get to develop as a public health educator, as a facilitator of HIV prevention discussions among the community, as well as to participate in hands-on international community development. This opportunity will take the skills I’ve obtained through the training I am receiving right now at ASU to a realistic level, making me into the leader and humanitarian I strive to be.
I invite you to visit the designated ASU study abroad program’s page here , where you can find information stated about this opportunity. Payments for this program are due to ASU by the program start date on June 27th. I hope that you will be interested in investing in me by helping me raise funds to achieve this goal, but I also welcome any other various ways you may like to offer your help in. Your prayers and support are greatly appreciated as I embark on this journey. I welcome you to make donations here on this page and to also reach out to me through my personal email here , with any comments, advices, questions or concerns you may have. I would love to hear from you.
Thank you so much for your time and generosity, and as said in KiSwahili …Asante Sana!

...P.S. I plan on keeping you all updated on this venture via email blasts with lots of pics! Much love and blessings to you and yours!
