Help Matt Battle Cancer

Matt Mazziotti, newlywed husband of Loni and "Daddy" to three precious doggies: Odin, Mahina and Marley (seen above), has recently been diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukemia. At age 26, Matt has seen his share of adversity during the course of his young life. Diagnosed as a Type 1 diabetic in childhood, he has struggled through life battling a chronic and sometimes deadly disease. He has been forced to carefully monitor his blood sugar levels by pricking his finger up to six times a day and injecting himself with insulin to maintain proper glucose levels. It has not been easy but Matt, always the jokester, never let his diabetes prevent him from living life to the fullest. A few years ago, Matt was diagnosed with testicular cancer. It was an epic battle that forced him to endure two painful surgeries and six rounds of chemo therapy (4 times per week). He won that battle and was in remission, allowing him to marry the love of his life, Loni Anderson, in June of 2014. Recently, he had some problems with his left eye and was diagnosed with proliferative diabetic retinopathy, which caused some vision impairment. He had surgery on his eye in November of 2014, called a vitrectomy, which involves removing small portions of the vitreous from the front structure of the eye. Pre-operative blood tests revealed a high white blood cell count, which meant his cancer had returned. Facing a long, challenging road of treatment and therapy, Matt is unable to work. Loni, who recently graduated with her Ultrasound degree, only works per diem. As such, they are in need of funds to help with both their medical and living expenses.
