Collapsing Face UPDATE:
Several people have asked what happened more than 50 years ago, which started the downward spiral, leading to my desperate need for reconstructive surgery. Following is the history: When I was young, I made a huge mistake and married an abusive bully. I'll call him "W". A few years later, I divorced him. Since then, I have lived with a daily reminder of my huge mistake.

I was 20 years old and pregnant with my second child when I had pain in the left side of my face. "W" took me to a dentist that I can only describe as a "mad doctor". Unbeknownst to me, "W" told the dentist not to bother filling teeth if he found any that needed repair, but rather to pull them. I had no idea till I saw a lot of blood. I held up my hand to try to ask the dentist what was going on. Like a scene from a horror movie, he laughed and told me what his instructions were from "W". Unable to speak, I motioned frantically, "STOP!". He continued chuckling, saying, "Too late, all done" and showed me the bloody gauze holding my extracted teeth. Traumatic experience to say the least. Later, my mother learned that nothing was wrong with those teeth. The pain had been from a sinus irritation.

About 15 years later, blade implants were placed to partially restore my bite. All was fine until a few years ago when bone and tissue began deteriorating rapidly as a result of the healthy teeth having been extracted. Next came the infection. Please continue reading.

Second half of 2011 through the present and into the future:
The left side of my face was going to collapse if I didn't receive care immediately, which is why my surgeries had to begin in early 2012. And there was a risk that the infection could go directly to my brain, so the surgeries that required removal of the blade implants, to perform a sinusotomy to clean out and treat the infection and place the first bone grafts were critically necessary.
There are several more surgeries I must have.

Whether you are a friend, acquaintance or stranger "“ please help me smile, chew, drink and talk properly by donating whatever you can afford to my reconstructive surgeries. I am grateful for each gift. I will provide updates as often as there is news to share.

THANK YOU for your donation, kindness and support. May all the good you do return to you a hundredfold.
