My little sister Lulu Barajas, is a beautiful woman inside and out, most caring and loving person on this earth, loving mother of 2 amazing young girls, daughter, wife, sister, cousin, friend, etc.
Last sunday she she had a stroke (brain aneurysm), she was taken to a hospital in Cuernavaca (the city where she lives) and then she had to be transfered to Mexico City due to the lack of equipment at the Hospital. Lulu arrived to the Instituto Nacional de Neurologia y Neurocirugia around 2 am, with severe brain bleeding.
My sister Lulu does not have health insurance, in Mexico the hospitals require payment in full prior to any procedures or surgeries (this includes ambulance, tests and ICU).
Lulu has already undergone two surgeries, her recovery will be very slow and we have been informed that she has another aneurysm that will need to be operated on to avoid further brain bleeding.
The hospital also informed our family that the equipment they are using to keep her alive is not owned by the hospital and is being rented through a 3rd party, which costs an extra $2K per day on top of the hospital bill.
All the materials used for her brain surgeries are also provided by a 3rd party, the cost to our family for that is about $6K per surgery.
All of our family and so many friends are praying for her and doing everything we can to get through this devastating process of seeing my little sister like this.
We ask for your support to ease this burden a little. Everything helps, every cent is a little less worry for our family.
