Help a Lone Soldier pay his rent

Please join us in helping an Israeli soldier.

Though we have known Benyamin Nemani of Miami, Florida for his entire life, over the last five years he has become part of the family. For two years before we made Aliya, while Benyamin was a student in Baltimore, we had the pleasure of having him stay at our home on numerous occasions. It was then that he and our youngest son Baruch formed a special friendship.

Here in Jerusalem, Benyamin has lived with us and
shared a room with Baruch for much of the last two years. Recently Benyamin volunteered to join the Israel Defence Forces. He has completed the first stage of training for oversees volunteers and is now moving on to basic training. He will be serving in a combat unit, and for the next year a half will be protecting the people of Israel, the land of Israel, the State of Israel, and our family.

Benyamin is trying to rent a small one bedroom studio apartment in Jerusalem where he can "crash," "chill," and relax when he is not on base. The Army stipend for housing is not enough to fully cover the rent. While we are doing our best to help, he is still short 1,000 shekel a month. To cover his rent for the next 16 months, we need to raise $4,117 by mid December.

We can tell you with a full heart, that you will be helping a wonderful young man who has made the courageous decision to devote two years of his life to the safety and security of all of us here in Israel.
