Hi Everyone,
Thank you for taking the time to read this. Kossy is an international nursing student at Prairie View A&M University. For those who may or may not know, international student tuition ranges between $12,000- $15,000 per semester. We usually have to pay these expenses out of pocket; which can be overwhelming for anyone without financial aid. International students are not afforded the opportunity to apply for financial aid, and usually experience difficulty when applying for grants or scholarships because of their citizenship. Kossy is so grateful to have the opportunity to pursue her dreams of becoming a pediatric nurse; but she is going through some financial difficulties at the moment.
Kossy is a great student and works hard to achieve academic excellence. She has made the Dean’s list every year and currently has a GPA of 3.7. She makes no excuses and sets ambitious goals for herself. She is one to let nothing stop her from dreaming big though she has faced a lot of adversity
Last semester, her circumstances were the same. She barely made it back to school; but with the Lord being faithful, she was able to return. Not being able to pay last semester's balance of $7,850 introduced new financial and emotional challenges. She worked diligently while in school to save money and pay her tuition out of pocket. In order for Kossy to register for this Fall 2017 semester, she will need to pay her outstanding balance of $7,850. In addition to that, international students are required to pay a fee of $875 for international student insurance. Once her balance of $7,850 is paid from the previous semester, and she is allowed to register for the current semester, she will have to pay approximately $4,000 to prevent from being dropped from her courses. This would also allow her to pay the rest of her tuition in instalments. We are asking for your help to come up with the $7,850 of outstanding balance from last semester, the $875 insurance fee and the $4,000 after registration. We know this is a lot to ask for but we humbly ask for it. No donation is too small and we appreciate you opening your heart and loving her this way.
