On August 14, 2018 Kandi was involved in a serious car accident and was Airlifted to UMC. She suffered a severe laceration on her forehead and back of her head. She has 22 total fractures including her nose, ribs, vertebra, spine and pelvis. She spent 3 days in SICU and is now in a regular room. Kandi faces a very long road to full recovery. She presently has health care insurance through August 31, 2018.

Kandi has been battling a number of health conditions over the past few years. She unfortunately lost her job in July due to these on going issues. Her previous employer allowed her to keep her insurance through the end of August but, unfortunately that is coming to an end. She had been working towards getting on a different plan and filing for disability, but now, because of the accident she is unable to complete the process at this time. Due to the unknown, yet expected ongoing medical expenses (future Dr. visits, Physical Therapy and more) that she is facing we are humbly asking for help to continue her on her current insurance Cobra Plan. The cost of the Cobra Premium is approximately $550.00 per month. To get her covered for 1 year will cost approximately $6600,00. With us now being on one income for the unforeseeable future we simply are unable to afford that. If you feel led to help we would greatly appreciate it.
