Determined Med Student needs help

I am just about to complete the second year of my medical degree. I am an unable to continue as I currently don't have the finances to carry on. My parents have been in court battling the banks since the GFC in 2009, when they lost everything they had through the Storm Financial Failure. Unfortunately the banks have won and my parents have now officially lost their home and pretty much everything they own.

Mum and Dad are both over 70 and were retired farmers who have worked bloody hard all their lives. They gave me the best education and upbringing I could have asked for. The worst part is that they feel terrible for not being able to help me anymore to achieve my dream and ambition of becoming a doctor.

Medicine is my love and I can't imagine doing anything else other than becoming a Doctor. I especially want to head back out to rural and remote communities in Australia and help the struggling people out there who can't get doctors to commit to staying in their towns.

I hope that once I graduate and proceed further through my medical training I can start putting some money aside for mum and dad and let them have the retirement they deserve.

I work whenever I can to try and save money and survive. I am up at 4:30am 6 mornings a week and work til 8:30am then off to lectures at 9am. I'm at uni all day with classes and the huge amount of study that is needed to pass medicine. I work as many weekends as I can, but its' still nowhere near enough needed to pay my tuition fees.

So far in my medical degree;

I am sitting on a high credit for my grades
I was the president of BUSHFIRE, our rural health club, which promotes rural and remote medicine and tries to get other students to take up and interest in heading to the bush once they graduate.
I was also chosen to attend the Future Leaders of Australian Rural Medicine Seminar.

I have also set up the Adopt-a-Pop Foundation. This is where I have found nursing homes in the local community and have tee'd up morning tees with their residents and got interested medical students to come along and meet them. I asked the nursing homes to pick residents who don't get a lot of visitors or who generally need some cheering up. Once the students have met a few of the residents they are encouraged to make regular visits. This program is going great guns and both the students and residents love it. I am trying to expand it to the other medical university in our area and get it up and running there. I then want to present it at the Australian Medical Students convention next year and get an Adopt-a-Pop club set up at each medical university in the country.

Here is the website for the foundation ; www.adoptapop.com

Becoming a Doctor and helping people is my dream. I can't imagine and don't want to do anything else. I am an unable to get a loan from a bank as I have nothing to secure the loan against.

I will not let anyone down. If you sponsor me I will be even more determined to make sure I am the very best doctor out there. I would love to stay in contact with you right through my journey, if you wanted me to, and keep you updated with how I am progressing.

I feel really bad asking strangers for money but there is nothing else I can do. This is my last resort. If this doesn't work my dream is over.
