Help Jack Fight Throat Cancer

Our fun-loving, kick boxing, #1 Dad, steadfast husband, fantastic chef and restaurateur has hit a bump in the road.  

On May 11th, 2017 Jack was diagnosed with throat cancer.  No one plans for cancer, especially when you do everything to stay healthy, eat right and exercise regularly.  Jack is now facing the fight of his life. As a family we've always prayed and believe in the great power of prayer.  We ask anyone who is reading this, to please send one up daily to the Man upstairs or whoever you pray to.

This past year, both of Rebecca's sisters have battled breast cancer, and the family as a whole has gone through a lot of changes and challenges during that time. (FYI - Thank God, the girls are finished treating and are doing well.) 

According to Jack's incredible doctor's at Cedars, his type of cancer is very treatable.  The treatment will include an exploratory surgery next week (June 1st) followed by concurrent chemo and 5 day/week radiation for the next few months. No one has a crystal ball so we really don't know what to expect but the next year will test all of us.

So, let's talk turkey:

Jack has been unable to work  and the financial ramifications of dealing with this cancer are overwhelming.  Additionally, Tessa has worked so hard the past two years and was admitted to UCLA this fall.  Along with her financial aid, we are very committed to helping her acheive her goals.

Nicky is an incredibly busy basketball player, playstation nut and Jack's mini-me.  At 11 years old, we don't want to subject him to Jack's treatment regimen and side-effects and are fortunate that he can spend the summer in Canada with Granny, Grampi, Auntie Rachel, Uncle Brock, Auntie Birdie, Uncle Bare and all of his cousins.  They will keep him on a routine that will be  loving, fun, healthy and away from scary stuff and give Jack and Rebecca the freedom to focus soley on Jack getting well.
