Help Baby Isaacs' Journey

Words from mom.....            This past year has been a crazy year for our family. Filled with great joy and great sadness. After praying for another baby, I finally got pregnant after 9 years. We welcomed a beautiful little boy on January 18th of 2013, Daniel Isaac. Our joy was short lived. Doctors soon discovered that our Isaac was born with many congenital problems. He stayed in the NICU for over 2 months and has had 5 surgeries. He had a imperforated anus, undescended testis, abnormal kidneys, one is ectopic, the other abnormally shaped. One has a constriction, the other a reflux causing severe hydronephrosis. He was also born with a heart condition named T.A.P.V.R., Total Anomalies Pulmonary Venus Return, this means his oxygenated blood and non oxygenated blood is mixing because the pulmonary arteries are not connected to where they need to be. Due to these congenital defects, the specialist categorized him as having V.A.C.T.E.R.L. Syndrome Association. They where hesitant to do this because he does not have all the things common with this association, and the ones that he does have specially the heart condition is not one that is associated with V.A.C.T.E.R.L.. In this past year more things have been added to his pre-existing conditions, at a couple weeks old, he developed a hematoma on his head, it soon calcified, they believed his body would absorb it, but it hasn't completely. As a result of this he developed right torticollis causing plagyosephaly, for this he has to wear an orthopedic helmet. The surgeries he has had have been for: the imperforated anus (3 surgeries); January 19th, 2013 to place a colostomy, July 27th, 2013 to create an opening for the base of his colon, and on October 30th 2013 to do the colostomy reversal, 1 for his heart where he was placed on bypass on February 26th 2013 to repair T.A.P.V.R., and 1 for his kidneys to try and reduce reflux, on March 12th, 2014. On Isaacs last surgery, the one for his kidneys, they where supposed to do the undescended testis. Sadly they where unable to this, the surgeon believes that Isaac has more underling issues. He requested additional testing to see if they could find his testis in his abdomen, as well as follow up with an Endocrinologist specialist to see the hormone balance of our little boy, we knew he had hypospadia, but it is really mild and never seemed a concern, however this surgeon is concerned that all these things combined could mean something more. We are asking not only for your financial help but also for your prayers. Due to the never ending specialist appointments, surgeries, rushes to the E.R. I had to quit my job as an office manager at a Landscaping Company, putting our family on financial strain, going from 2 incomes to one, and adding the constant expenses, we are at our point in our lives that we do not know if we will be able to cover next months bills, rent or anything. Our minivan broke down late in October so I am constantly relying on my generous family and friends for rides or borrowing their vehicles. Thanks to them we have made it as far as we have. Our savings is completely depleted and we are now looking for a more affordable place to live. This journey we are on is not complete we are just starting. We are so blessed to have our little Isaac, his name means LAUGHTER and thats' what he is, filled with laughter. He is always such a happy little boy, you look at him and would not even think he has been through what he has been. But he is strong, and as long as he is willing to fight, we will fight right along him, helping him through each surgery, each illness, each bad moment, just to achieve a better quality of life for him.Thank you for taking the time in being part of Isaacs' journey....
