Mom & Dad's Home Restoration

Donation protected

My parents, Ricky and Jessica, have been living in the same house since 1999 - my childhood home - and on June 9, 2017, they lost the house to a freak fire in the middle of the night. While they slept, a fire broke out in the living room and eventually engulfed more than half the home. Thankfully, my parents were comptletely fine. I wish I could say the same for the house.

The house, ruined by fire, smoke and water damage, needs to be completley torn down and rebuilt.
My parents have insurance but with estimates and coverage and all those funny words insurance companies like to use, money is still a stressful factor.

My mom's love and generosity know no limits. She goes above and beyond in order to accomodate and be there for those she loves and cares for. Her family and her faith are everything to her. She currently serves as a caregiver for her parents and for her brother who is legally blind and deaf. She has dedicated her life to taking care of those she loves--it's as if she doesn't know how NOT to be MOM to so many people in her life. And she loves it, she enjoys it, she cherishes it. The only thing she does better than that of being a mom is being NANA to her 3 grandbabies who absolutely adore her to pieces.

My dad has a true heart of gold. He is a retired veteran (U.S. Army) who served this country well and was even deployed overseas TWICE--once to Bosnia and once to Kosovo. This is a man who not only has taken good care of his country, but has taken even greater care of his family. He's the one with all the jokes, even those that would be totally not funny had it come from anyone else. He loves bringing laughter and happiness to anyone he's around, but especially to those closest to him. Everyone loves Grampy.

They've given SO MUCH--always without hesitation and always without expecting anything in return.  And even though there was so much that was lost, the most important thing that I thank God for is that THEY are still here.

I'm asking any and all friends, family, and anyone willing to offer a little support and donate what you can --$20, $5, a word of condolence, or sharing this post--anything to help make this diffucult and stressful situation a little less so.

Thank you in advance.

Let's get my awesome parents back home.

May this also serve as a reminder that this can really happen to anyone, at any time, so please be cautious and aware and get your alarms checked and have a fire escape plan. Apprciate what you have and truly count and enjoy your blessings.
