Robert Strilko, A New Lenox father of two, has Dilated Cardiomyopathy. His heart was only functioning at 10%. He underwent surgery on 3/17/2014 to implant a Left Ventricular Assist Device . Since the beginning of 2015 Robert has been  hospitalized on multiple occasions with reoccurring symptons of heart failure.

In October 2015 his team became concerned that Robert would need to transition to a Palliative Care setting to make him more comfortable while his body starts to give out. It had appeared to his family that there was no more hope for Robert.

Hope was not lost after all!!!! He was admitted to the hospital early this November for complications with the LVAD pump. After numerous tests and much discussion, it was discovered the the pump has not been properly woking.

The options were laid out on the table. and his choices are do nothing and pass away within a years time, total artificial heart, or replace the current LVAD and implant a RVAD  to improve the Right Ventricle which is now failing. So on  Friday November 20, 015, Robert will undergo another  open heart surgery to replace the old LVAD and implant the RVAD.

In light of all this we are still hoping for a possible heart transplant one day,

Fundraising has been re-established in effort to help accomodate the Strilko Family's transportation costs to and from the hospital, prescriptions, and other needs that may help aid Robert while he recovers.
