Helping "Harts"

Donation protected
On December 6th 2017, Mia James Hart was welcomed into the world by proud parents Tom and Jamie, along with 2-year old brother Max, just a few days after her due date.  Jamie had a very healthy pregnancy and a typical delivery.  However, shortly after delivery, the doctors became concerned about Mia's breathing and her oxygen levels dropping.

Twenty-four hours after delivery, Mia was airlifted to Loyola University Medical Center in Chicago where she spent nearly four weeks in the NICU undergoing various tests and procedures in an attempt to find the cause of her breathing episodes.  After all this time, Mia continued to baffle specialists, and the decision was made to transfer her to Lurie's Children's Hospital in Chicago where she continues to be looked after.  While they've made great strides in finding the cause of Mia's episodes, she continues to have good days and more difficult days.

Shortly after Mia's transfer to Lurie's, Tom had to return to work.  He has been able to work from 3:00am-10:00am so that he can drive back to Manteno, pick up Jamie, and make the daily drive to Chicago to see Mia and get updates from her doctors.  Jamie, a nanny to two sweet girls, has been unable to work throughout this experience.  Mia is now almost two months old, and there are still no definitive answers or any indication of when she will be able to come home.

Any donations will go to help defray medical expenses that go over and beyond what insurance will cover as well as help with travel expenses incurred.

Thank you in advance, and please keep this sweet family of four in your prayers!
