Helping Doug Roberts

Donation protected
From Doug & Sandy's daughter, Jennifer:
Two weeks ago, my father was diagnosed with influenza A. He was given Tami flu and was on the road to recovery. He was feeling better and it was just in time to celebrate his grandson's 2nd birthday party at Gilbert's Sportsman Club. As the days went on, though, my father developed shortness of breath, chest pain, extreme weakness, fatigue and occasional fainting spells. Countless trips to the emergency room changed on March 13, 2018, when our lives were changed forever. My father received a call stating that his blood work was suggestive of leukemia. Then, it was confirmed. He was officially diagnosed with this form of cancer. He is now experiencing an extended hospital stay to receive aggressive treatment for the fight of his life. Treatment can last, at the very least, for 1-2 years, after which he will have to undergo stem cell transplant. By this aggressive treatment, my father is unable to return to work. He and my mother recently built a new home at a location that was closer to their only grandchild. And now, the roof over their heads is in jeopardy, along with all of the bills that accumulate with owning a home. Health insurance will be ending since my father cannot return to work. The medical bills alone are already overwhelming. Our world has turned upside down in the blink of an eye. My father, Doug Roberts, is the greatest man. He would do anything for anyone without question. He sacrificed so many things over the years. Especially for me. I can honestly say that I would not be where I am today if it wasn't for him being a strong fixture in my life and providing me with unconditional love and guidance over the years. Now, it is my turn to step up and reach out to all of you. If you know my parents, then you know that this is completely out of their character to ask for any type of financial assistance from another. I am asking all of you to help me to help my father. He needs to focus his mind and energy to getting better, not worrying about paying the bills.
Please pray for my father. I need him in my life. He needs me in his. There is great strength in prayer. We need that strength. Lord, please heal my father.
If you are able to send a donation to help my parents, we will be forever grateful to you. Any amount will be truly appreciated. We hope to have a fundraiser in the near future. I will keep you posted as to how my father is reacting to his upcoming treatment. Thank you. So much.
<3, Jennifer
