<div>As many of you are aware, my sister Brittany was diagnosed with breast cancer in mid April this year. She was very hesitant to allowing my mom and I to start one of these but as a sole practitioner owning her own medical practice, her insurance has been less than kind already in covering her bills (if you are an independent business owner in NYS, you get it). She is early on in her journey through beating this cancer, which she will beat, but has a long road ahead of her. She will be requiring a mastectomy followed by five months of chemo and then possible radiation followed by several more reconstructive surgeries.

<div>She has provided care to hundreds, if not thousands of patients, at this point in her career (and in life), and she is hopeful to get through this as quickly as possible so she can return to doing what she loves, taking care of others. She remains an involved mom to her three young children and is hopeful this chapter in their story is one of the shorter ones.
