Hello, My name is Sarina Cleaveland and I am initiating this fundraiser on behalf of my brother, Tyler Cleaveland.
My Brother Tyler is the most amazing, caring, spunky, fun-loving, creative, bright, fascinating 30-year-old I know. Anyone who has had the pleasure of spending time with him understands that he is one in a million in the most fantastic ways. To know him and to be a part of his story is truly a blessing.
Life took a strange and unexpected twist for Tyler and his family over the weekend of March 17th. Tyler was not feeling well for a couple of days so he and his wife, Trista went to an Express care facility to get checked out, expecting to get some medicine and a quick release. Instead, after some blood tests and a physical examination, Tyler was sent home and asked to visit his primary doctor the following day. Following the appointment with the primary doctor Tyler underwent a few more blood tests and a bone marrow biopsy. On March 22nd Tyler was given the diagnosis that he has Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia or ALL, this is a fast growing cancer of the the white blood cells. ALL is also the type of Leukemia that is most treatable and beatable!
Doctors at Saint Cloud hospital wasted no time in transferring all of his medical records to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester. On March 23rd Tyler was admitted to the Mayo Clinic to start his treatment process. It is expected that Tyler and Trista will be staying in Rochester for the next few months.
Tyler’s goal is clear—He wants to get out the hospital as soon as possible and wants to spend as much time as possible with his two young children. He and the family know what the fight is in front of them. They have the best doctors in the area and many family and friends willing to lend their support and a hand.
The goal of this fundraising site is to help Tyler and his family with the ancillary medical costs. All funds generated from this account will be used to pay for costs associated with the treatment and subsistence of Tyler as he goes through the steps, seeking to be cured of this cancer. Examples of the related costs are the insurance deductibles for tests, treatment, hospital stays, and doctor visits. As well as, other costs including: COBRA payments to maintain insurance while away from his job, personal bills, and child care for their two children.
There are two ways we can all help. First, by donating. Every small amount adds up to reach the fundraising goal. Second, by passing the link on to others who might be outside the reach of this invitation, but who understand the fight and want to help.
