Help Tracey Get Home

Donation protected
Hi my name is Lisa Baird, I've been a friend of Tracey's for 7-8 years and I followed her story through Facebook and then privately through messenger in a group of friends and family.  Her struggle has been nothing short of horrendous.  I know how private and proud Paul, Tracey's husband is, but I really felt the need to help Tracey return to her family home to recover in the best way possible.  This is my effort and I hope to oversee the upgrade to her accommodation.

Here is Tracey's story:

On December the 10th I got myself up off the loo and screamed in pain thinking I had dislocated my new hip replacement.

That's the last thing I remember until I woke up in ICU with my leg amputated.

Eventually I made it up to a ward and began talking and asking questions.

Once I had yelled out to Paul from the bathroom he rang an ambulance straight away.

I don't remember any of this, from emergency they did a scan and found I had a huge blood clot at the top of my right leg.

Off I went into theatre and they tried for 3hrs to get the clot and couldn't get it.

The next day they thought they would have another go and they were still not able to get it.

In the meantime my foot and leg was going grey and was freezing cold.

On the 3rd day they called Paul to come in to sign a consent form to amputate as I was being poisoned and was dying.

So there it was, my leg had gone and to top it off I had a heart attack during the 3rd operation.

To be continued.....

So after the heart attack I had to have 2 heart operations to put stints and balloons in my arteries.

These were so traumatic for  me as I was still dealing with my leg and not allowed to move off my back for 12hrs at a time as I had 2 separate ops.

I just got over that and my groin wound from trying to get the clot had caught a really bad bug, so off to theatre I go.

Well 7 operations later and many, many different infections, I'm now waiting for stitches to join the wounds closed.

Everyday the dressings come down and new ones put on,. Pain at it's highest, let me tell ya.

Well it's day 100 today and I'm still here trying to heal enough to go to rehab.

My house is not safe for me to come home now that I'm in a wheelchair.

Been waiting on NDIS for nearly a year now to try and get the house safe.

I'll probably end up in a nursing home......lol

The reason why I got my blood clot.........

In March last year I went to hospital after spending 4 weeks watching my leg stop working to the point where I couldn't walk.

In hospital they did a heap of tests too find out I had a nerve disease so off I go to rehab to learn how to walk again.

Well while I was in physio I went to do what the lady said to do and SNAP,, clean snap of my left shin. Off to hospital, operation and 2 weeks rest.

Back to rehab I go, this time I have to learn to walk with 2 bad legs.

My podiatrist came around to check my feet and noticed my toes we're going Black, back to hospital I go.

2angiograms, 1angio bypass & 2 toes amputated. I then go back to rehab.

2 months of hard work and I was allowed to go home.

The day before my release I go to physio for my last assessment and I had to do it with someone I had never met before.

Well he made me do some exercises I haven't done before. I voiced my opinion and he said just try.

Well I did what he said and got fatigued real quick and just as I was making my way to a seat I fell & broke my hip !!!!!!

Off to hospital I go, AGAIN.

I had plates and screws inserted, 2 weeks rest & home to heal.

I was home & my hip started hurting to the point where I couldn't walk. We went back to hospital and I had been walking on a broken hip for a week.

I ended up having a full hip replacement, did some reading & some physio and I was allowed to go home to heal.

SO.... That's where the other story starts and why we think I had the clot that's put me here now.

This  is Tracey’s story and it would be great to be able to help her get home ASAP to her family and start her next chapter .
Any help financially or with trades to make Tracey’s house safe for her to return to would be greatly appreciated.
Everything helps .
The sooner the better because Tracey is in rehab at the moment and won’t be allowed home until work is completed to make her house safe !
This fundraising will help Tracey get home . Please  give what you can ! Thanks  really appreciate any help x
