Helping the Sidneys

As most of you know, Tom was in an unfortunate accident Friday September 1st and suffered injury to his spinal cord.  He was rushed to the Ottawa Civic where he underwent emergency surgery. 

Tom now has none or limited movement of all extremties and will need extensive rehabilitation to hopefully correct his immobility.  

Many of you have asked what you can do to help, well I think this is a great start.  Tom and Shelly need our help to survive during this difficult time.  Right now their main priority is Tom's recovery, so they are both obviously unable to work right now and probably for a while.  If we can help them financially for now, I think that would make a world of difference in their lives.

This money will help them with travel expenses, medical bills, food, bills at home, etc.  

I will also be looking into organzing a fundraiser of some sort.  A benefit dance perhaps? (If anyone has any ideas or would like to help please PM me).  Since Tom and Shelly are both actively involved in the town (Tom is on Counsel and they both voleenter alot of their time to community events), it only seems fitting that the town come together to show their support.
