Helping the Schwartz family

Donation protected
****update****
Lincoln’s results came back and he does have SMA type 1. Now the family is battling with insurance to get the treatment covered.
When Lincoln comes home, the family is going to need a larger vehicle to transport him and all of his medical equipment in to go to appts, therapies, and back in for all of his treatments. Unfortunately right before Lincoln’s admission their family van died leaving them with only a vehicle not big enough to fit the whole family, nevermind a medically fragile infant possibly in a special car seat called a car bed.
I’m hoping we can get some more shares to try to get up over our goal to hopefully be able to help that out with this need as well! If anyone knows of a place I may be able to get a van donation from, or a place where they could purchase a reliable but affordable van please let me know! Thank you all so much for your generosity and prayers: both help so much and Sarah and Brian are so greatful! They can’t even express the gratitude they have for everyone.

The Schwartz family was overjoyed to welcome their sweet baby boy Lincoln into their family on December 11,2017. He was a perfect 6lbs 2oz. On Friday January 12 Lincoln went for his well baby visit and the doctor was concerned with his junky sounding lungs, and sent him to the hospital. He had developed muscle tone problems the last few weeks and wasn’t able to clear his lungs on his own. A neurologist has been caring for Lincoln and it’s believed that he has spinal muscular atrophy, which will be confirmed with genetic testing this week. Sadly, this condition has a fatal prognosis.
The last few days have been a whirlwind for the family. Between making sure their other children are cared for and spending every moment they can by Lincoln’s side. Lincoln’s got a rough road ahead of him, and that will come with a lot of extra care, dr appts, therapies etc. Brian will have to miss time at work to help care for him and the other boys especially with the likelihood of lincoln spending much time in the picu.
I’m hoping that this fundraiser can help alleviate some of the financial burden for this wonderful family in their time of need. Although I know they don’t like to ask for help, they truly deserve this help and it’s the least we can give.
