Helping the Pereira Family

Donation protected
Our sister Kerri's husband, John Pereira, was diagnosed 8 years ago with brain cancer. Throughout his journey he has endured three surgeries and endless rounds of chemo, radiation, and cancer fighting medications. In October of 2016 our family received the devastating news that the cancer was back and had progressed to stage 4 glioblastoma, an incurable stage of this disease. At first he was responding treatment but in the last few months unfortunately all options have been exhausted and the disease is taking his life. He is terminal and it is unknown if he will have a few short weeks or a few short months. The once fun loving family man who loved to play sports in the yard with his children and family is unable to stand, walk, or sit up on his own. He is cognitively impaired and unable to even remember the little things like what he had for breakfast.

He is leaving behind our sister, the most selfless person we know, a 5 year old daughter, and an 11 year old son who has special needs. Our sister has been unable to work while caring for him and both kids. He was his families soul provider up until the cancer rendered him unable to work. If you know our sister Kerri she is one who makes do and doesn't ask for help. She has cut back everything that isn't a necessity but is still struggling to even provide the necessities for John and their children with zero income. Not to mention she will be left to care for all of his medical bills that have come from his treatment.

She was told that their insurance will no longer cover the full cost of his hospice care and will have to make other plans for his end of life care. Please share this or consider making a small donation to help our sister pay for medical and living expenses while she goes through this difficult time of losing her husband of 17 years and father of two beautiful children.
