Helping the Hathaways

     Young Alaric is a mere 21 months old. In his tender young age he was diagnosed with a rare disorder  called Chiari Malformation. It is a structural defect in the part of the brain that controls balance. This Malformation can interfere with the flow of cerebral spinal fluid between the skull and the spinal canal. This flow restriction can cause a back up of fluid into spaces within the brain and spine ultimately resulting in increased pressure in the brain and spinal cord. Alaric has suffered from many symptoms as a result of this including severe and life threatening seizures.

Due to the need to see a number of specialists and travel to facilities far away from home, Alaric’s parents, Brian and Summer have suffered a severe financial hardship. They are in dept for medical bills and struggling to pay their own. 

Now to make Matters worse Summer and Brian were notified by Alarics primary specialist that he is going to need an urgent Brain surgery. This is going to take a huge financial toll on the Hathaway family. Brian who is a firefighter has exhausted nearly all of his leave credits, which means that he will not be paid for any of his time that he needs to be with his family. 

The Hospital is over 2 hours away. This means that Alarics family will have to stay in a hotel near the hospital and pay for food and gas out of their own pockets for a period of at least 5 or more days.

The Hathaways are a loving and caring family that would and have given to others in need. Never concerned about their own well being when it comes to helping others. Let’s give a little back to this amazing and deserving family. Any amount is extremely helpful and greatly appreciated.
