Helping the Hapemans

Paula has been in the hospital for a several weeks now trying to get well, but the setbacks just keep coming. She originally went in on March 21st for shortness of breath and received a diagnosis of walking pneumonia and was admitted to the hospital. While she was in the hospital she found out that she had contracted influenza and was treated for that as well, lengthening the stay. After around a week in the hospital, Paula was finally discharged on Tuesday March 27th.

Paula was unfortunately forced to return on Friday March 30th with pain that was so severe she was unable to function. After a few tests in the emergency room, the doctors stated that she had contracted pneumonia following her bout of the flu and that they thought that was causing the pain. They began treating her for pneumonia and admitted her back to the hospital, where she has been for two weeks now with no end in sight due to continued complications. Paula has had to undergo several procedures related to her treatment that has exponentially increased the length of her hospital stay. I don't want to get into too deep of detail regarding it, but it seems like every time I check up on her there is another setback or complication that has presented.

While all of this has been transpiring, Bob has been continuing to get treatment for his underlying cardiac issues that became severe in July 2017 and has been unable to work since August 2017 due to that. Bob has been spending countless hours at the hospital with Paula, as well as traveling back and forth to Philadelphia to be treated for his condition.

The problem currently is that Bob's insurance has lapsed, as well as his unemployment running out. Paula was doing her best to support the family in the interim with her employment; however with her being in the hospital they can use your help now more than ever! They need to cover general expenses like food, housing, and bills as well as pay for the costs associated with Bob's travel and treatment and Paula's treatment. Paula was able to get insurance through her employer, but the cost is so high that after her portion of the premium is covered she barely ends up with anything left from her reduced salary. With the money she has left from her check, there are bills that have to be paid as well as trying to save to pay the deductible from her insurance which is no small amount.

Paula and Bob Hapeman are amazing people and I know that they would go out of their way to help anyone that was in need, so if you're in a position where you are able to donate any amount (no amount is too small) I am sure that they would be more than grateful to you!
