Helping the Cannon-McClellan Family

Early this morning, June 30th, a Milton family’s home was severely damaged in an overnight fire. Erica Cannon and Bobby McClellan are loved members of their community, who are now facing the devastating loss of their home. Their two boys, Mitchell Cannon and Hunter McClellan attend Milton High School and just started their summer vacation.

Thanks to their neighbors across the street, everyone made it out of the house safely. The fire started in the garage at 1 A.M. while the family slept soundly in their rooms, unaware of what was happening. While most of the damage was contained to the garage, which completely burnt down, and their kitchen, which is barely standing, the house is currently uninhabitable.

Erica, Bobby, and her two boys are currently staying at a family member’s home while trying to navigate the next steps they have to take. While they are safe, they left the house with the clothes on their back and their vehicles. Items are replaceable, but possible family heirlooms, treasured photos, and other items that can’t necessarily be re-created or re-bought have possibly been lost forever.

Victims of fire face tremendous amounts of emotional stress, as well as the financial costs of replacing what they created as a home for themselves.

We are hoping the community can stand together and donate whatever they can to help bring the Cannon-McClellan family a peace of mind while they try to piece together what is left and recover from this loss. Erica Cannon and Bob McClellan are treasured members of their community who always step up for others, and now it's our turn to step up for them.
