Helping the Alonso family

Moises Alonso Chavez born on November 25th 1942 in Encarnacion de Diaz, Jalisco, Mexico. Married Consuelo Nieto in 1967 and had 8 children. Papa Moy, as his Grandchildren called him, was a loving and caring person. Moises enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing chess and pool.  As any dad, he worked very hard to provide for his family and worked until the day he got ill on 4/20 and had to be hospitalized for Covid-19.

Manuela Nieto Palacios born June 17th 1933 in Panuco, Zacatecas, Mexico. Abuelita has always lived with her daughter Consuelo and Moises and watched over all her grandchildren and great grand children. Abuelita loved to be at all family events; whether that was hiking, last minute road trips, gardening, going on walks and of course cooking for anyone that would come and visit. She always had stories to tell of when she was younger or raising all the grand children. Abuelita was a fierce woman who would do anything for family - tragically she also contracted the virus and had to be hospitalized on 4/25.

We have lost two large pillars in the family. Manuela passed away on 4/30 and Papa Moy the following day on 5/1. The pain this virus has caused the family is unreal; to have them both hospitalized and not be able to visit them and give them words of encouragement that things would get better or a simple “you got this dad/abuelita.” As our family prepares for funeral costs, we are seeking additional help for our mother/grandma to get her through these times as she has lost her loving husband and mother.

Words can’t describe the sadness this virus has caused our family along with other’s and we understand that these are difficult times during this pandemic but any donation would be greatly appreciated.
