Helping Susan Get Back on Her Feet

Our dear friend Susan Holmes Jackson needs our help.  She was diagnosed with thyroid cancer in April, 2014. Since then she has had three surgeries, two radioactive iodine treatments and six weeks of radiation (that required daily round trips of 160 miles). Her recovery has been very challenging.  Her illness and side effects from treatment have left her unable to work for a long period of time.  She goes back for her next scan in September.  As of now she is still not cancer free.  Meanwhile, her landlord recently reneged on a verbal agreement he had made with Susan and she and her family were evicted from their home.  They quickly found another place to live, but they have been given until the end of this week to come up with a deposit and month's rent or their new landlord will not let them stay.  Susan's treatment has taken a huge physical toll on her. She has applied for disability, but it is a long process. She has three children living at home with her.  Susan is determined to go back to work. She is planning to work as a substitute teacher this school year. But she needs help to get through this next month so that she can get back on her feet.  Anyone who knows Susan knows that she is a loving, kind and funny friend.  She needs us.  I have her permission to post this, although it is very difficult for her.  Please help if you can.
