Helping Steven Fight Cancer

Donation protected
To whom it may concern, my name is Patsy/Patch Fraga and I am running this go fund me for my little brother, Steven Fraga. A few weeks ago my family found out that Steven has Stage IIA Hodgkin's Lymphoma. I apologize if this is the first place your reading this, we have tried to tell everyone close to us these past couple of weeks but depending on how the day went, it's hard to get it out with words. Cancer wasn’t a roadblock any of us saw coming, but it isn’t something that is going away anytime soon. If you would like more insight to how this journey has affected our family and Steven, please read on.

At the end of December, a bump had began to the form at the base of Stevens neck. While we were concerned, we had assumed it was a muscle strain from moving the milk stand. February 5th was the answer to our questions, Stevens CAT scan showed 15 more bumps in his chest cavity. They scheduled to have more tests done at UCSF the next day. In the concluding weeks, Steven’s first biopsy came back inconclusive, his PET scan thankfully didn’t show any more forming bumps then what was found in the CAT scan, they made a visit to the sperm bank in preparation for chemotherapy, a second biopsy require anesthesia to take a chunk out of the bump in his neck, he projectile vomited all over a nurse when they tried to make him take a pill, and two Friday’s ago he had surgery to put his access port in and he started his first round of Chemotherapy.

While 90% of kids pull through his type of cancer, its awful having to see Steven in this condition. Days after his first round of Chemo, he’s was still is pretty sick late into the week. My family will be making trips down to UCSF every two weeks for the next four to six months.

Any funds collected will go towards medical bills, prescriptions, and travel costs for Stevens treatment and recovery. While we know he willl pull through this, our insurance still leaves a large gap in coverage. We are asking for help with raising at least $5,000, to aid with the much larger bill. While it feels really awkward for my family to reach out like this, it’s just something that we have to do. While this is majorly affecting my brother in the short term, I want to prevent it from affecting his future. While operating our dairy ranch, my family is always strapped for cash, but I don’t want this new cost to affect my brothers option to go to any college he wants to in the future. He deserves that much for what he is having to go through right now.

This all started occurring during the ranch’s busiest time of the year, baby season. Because of this, I had to drop out from College of the Redwoods and postpone my education to next year to fill in with milking and feeding babies while my parents are gone with Steven. In saying that, if you would like anything in exchange for your contribution to my brothers health I am willing to fill in the gap. We currently have a bunch of chicken eggs and I can bake, clean, and help out with almost anything! Thank you so much for reading this and even if you can't donate please share!
